Can You See Me?

Series, 2023/2025

This series of sculptural self portraits examines visibility, deafness, and the politics of the gaze. Beginning with a mannequin head fitted with resin cast ears, the work considers how Deaf bodies are made legible as objects of display and scrutiny.

Later iterations shift in material and form. Concrete self portraits fractured and repaired with gold reframe trauma through acts of repair, echoing resilience within Deaf and disabled experience.
